What’s the first movie Netflix ever shipped?

Sleepy Hollow

Ever wondered what movie was in that very first red envelope Netflix sent out? The oldest we have in the FeedFliks database is Sleepy Hollow which was shipped out to a subscriber on 18th July 2000 and returned to Netflix on the 5th of August. Netflix was in business atleast a couple years before that so does anyone out there have a DVD shipment even older than July 2000?

What was *your* first Netflix movie – and when did you rent it? Ours was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in July 2007.

My first Netflix rental was Little Miss Sunshine on 12/20/06. I’m pretty sure I didn’t have a Blu-ray player back then (was Netflix stocking Blu-ray yet?)… otherwise, I would’ve liked to see it on the format.

*When* was your first rental @Feedflix?

    Noobs. ;^)

My first receipt was Go, shipped 07/19/2000 & returned 08/31/2000. My first return was Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss, shipped 07/21/2000 & returned 08/07/2000. Looks like I was always a bit slow to return. Though it probably took 3 days each way, since back then they only shipped from CA & I’m in TX.

JUST missed beating the blog entry. My 1st DVD was July 20, 2000 (2 days after the example) and was The Wild Bunch.

My queue only shows back to 2007…maybe because I quite and rejoined again (with the same name though).

I’ve been a member since October of 99 before they had unlimited plans but my rental history only goes back to July of 2000, which is probably around when they started unlimited plans.
