For a long time, Netflix has talked about having over 100,000 titles in their catalog of which some 17,000 were available via Streaming.
Those numbers need updating. FeedFliks currently sees the numbers:
Over 130,000 titles in the Netflix Catalog
Almost 28,000 Streaming Titles (which still leaves a 100,000 titles available via DVD alone)
4315 titles available via HD Streaming
It looks like the window of opportunity for other competitors to challenge Netflix’s goal to be the 800 lb gorilla in streaming TV + Movies online is closing fast.

This is excellent information – Thanks for making your analysis available. It’s been quite some time since Netflix gave any ‘official’ numbers.
FYI: Making this comment on the 10th of Sep at appx 1825MDT. According to your ‘FeedFlix Blog’ posting header, this blog was posted on the 11th of September… Is the posting occurring from somewhere across the international dateline, or perhaps you’re posting from the future?

There are movies that are only available in streaming that are not available as DVDs. One example is the Millionairess, and those coming soon include the Coca-Cola kid, the Fugitive Kind, and Look Back in Anger.

@matt
I’ve often wondered how many titles were available as streaming only… just out of curiosity.
I’ve noticed that if I go to an actor’s page and scroll to the bottom, often times films from early in their careers will be streaming only. Also indie stuff and lots of titles that carry a UR or NR rating tag will be streaming only if you sort by rating.
There’s a pretty good contingent of indie and out of print content available on Netflix right now which I think is pretty exciting.
